INDIANAPOLIS -- Below zero wind chills can be deadly for people with no heat so the Salvation Army is making sure everyone stays warm.
The organization opened up shelters to take in as many of the homeless as they can.
Crews were at the Eagle Creek Community Center located at 4400 North High School Road to set up cots for up to 30 overnight guests.

The Salvation Army is also loaning 30 to 40 sleeping cots to the Indianapolis Police Department's Homeless Shelter Unit to use at the Horizon House for people in need of safe shelter this weekend.
The Horizon House is located at 1033 East Washington Street.
The Salvation Army Fort Wayne Corps Community Center at 233 W. Main St. is open as an overnight shelter through Tuesday. Hours are from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
There are also severalwarming centers open in Henry County.
In Anderson, people in need of a warm shelter can go to the Salvation Army at 1615 Meridian St., St. Vincent Anderson or St. Vincent Mercy.
And the city of Muncie has made city hall and all seven fire stations warming shelters.
