INDIANAPOLIS -- We get it. You want 2016 to end, and 2017 to begin. What better way to celebrate the end of the year than with a party right here in Indianapolis.

According to a recent study, you'll also save money spending your New Year's Eve here in Indy.

WalletHub recently released its "Best Places for New Year's Eve" list, and while Indianapolis is No. 56 overall (right between Durham, N.C., and Plano, Texas, yikes), the Circle City ranked No. 4 overall for most affordable place to ring in the new year.

To evaluate the "Costs" aspect of the study, WalletHub evaluated the following factors:

  • Average price of a New Year's Eve party ticket
  • Affordable fine dining (restaurants rated 4.5 stars or higher)
  • Average wine price
  • Restaurant costs
  • Lowest price of a three-star hotel on New Year's Eve
  • Pampering (salon and haircut costs)

For what it's worth, Indianapolis ranked No. 75 on "Entertainment and Food" and No. 83 on "Safety and Accessibility."

The top three overall cities are Orlando, Fla., San Francisco and Atlanta.
