INDIANAPOLIS - A Sunday morning crash on the Indiana Toll Road has left one semi-truck driver dead.
A preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police indicated that a 2014 Freightliner semi was westbound on I-90 near the 26-mile marker when for unknown reasons it veered off the roadway and hit a concrete bridge deck.
Police said the driver, Michael P. Hall, 48, of Covington, Georgia, was ejected and pinned under the box trailer. He had to be extracted from underneath the trailer before being taken to Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, where he was later pronounced dead.
The semi was loaded with frozen dinners, which were strewn across the median and roadway.
