INDIANAPOLIS -- A semi driver was able to get out of his burning cab in time to escape injury Friday morning.
The semi caught fire in the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 around 8 a.m.
The driver said he was on his usual route between Indianapolis and Columbus when he noticed a strange sound coming from the engine.
He pulled off to the side of the interstate between I-465 and Southport Road and jumped out.
The cleanup closed two lanes of traffic on I-65.

One lane opened up about an hour later.
