MULBERRY, Ind. - Officials said a 7-year-old boy died in a house fire early Saturday morning.
The Madison Township Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 200 block of South Main Street just before 2 a.m.
Firefighters were unable to rescue a small child in an upstairs bedroom due to the amount of fire inside the house, a news release said.
Three other residents were in the house and were treated for smoke inhalation at a nearby hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
