BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- A man was clocked at 134 miles per hour on I-65 early Saturday morning, according to the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Deputy Kris Weisner said he saw the driver traveling at a high rate of speed around 4:33 a.m. when he was pulling onto southbound I-65 from SR 252.

The driver got caught up in semi traffic, causing one semi to swerve to avoid the fast-traveling passenger car.

Assistance was called for, and the driver was eventually pulled over. He is identified as Demarcus Williams, 21, of Indianapolis.

Williams refused when asked to leave the vehicle. When he was ordered, he finally did comply, and began walking away onto the grassy area of the shoulder of the road. He resisted as he was placed into custody, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies searched Williams' car and located two sets of digital scales with residue that tested positive for cocaine.

Williams was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on charges of reckless driving and possession of cocaine. He remains there on a $14,500 bond.
