Siblings reunite thanks to viral post on RTV6 Facebook page

Dawn Price found sibings after post went viral

SHERIDAN, Ind. - In the course of only two days, a Sheridan woman tracked down a brother and sister she had never met with the help of the RTV6 Facebook page .

Dawn Price, 41, spent the past 19 years searching for her siblings.

She used the traditional government sources and Google methods, but to no avail.

Price posted a picture of herself holding a sign on the RTV6 Facebook page asking for help in locating her siblings last Thursday.

Almost 7,000 people shared that post and Know It All Intelligence Group got wind of the post.

The firm, based in the Philadelphia area, helped locate her sister, 28-year-old Danielle Usher, in Bloomington, Ill.

“It’s pretty shocking, I never knew she existed. It’s just surreal. As far as how quickly, it is creepy how technology can find us so quickly to be honest,” Usher said.

Usher, her husband and their two children made the four-hour drive to Sheridan to meet Price Saturday afternoon.

"I’ve always wanted a family. It’s just exciting to know that there’s a family out there. I’ve always wanted brothers and sisters. My brother who I was adopted with, we’re not very close. So it was very exciting," Price said.

Price said her father left her at a friend’s house when she was 2 years old and he never returned.

Price and her brother, Danny, floated around various foster homes until they were finally adopted when she was 5 and Danny was 4.

Her search has also found a 31-year-old brother, Brandon, in Ohio, a 20-year-old sister, Mary, in Tennessee and a 35-year-old brother, Michael, in New York.

Price said her father, Daniel Ross Sandlin, is still alive and lives in Tennessee, but their relationship is virtually non-existent.

Her connection with her newfound sibling is flourishing.

“I don’t know, I have always, always had this need to have a family. And now I do,” Price said.

Price is still searching for a sister named Kerry.

She is planning a major Easter celebration at her home. Her newfound sister, Danielle, and newly located brother, Brandon, plan to attend.
