HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. -- Howard County Commissioners passed an ordinance Monday evening that prohibits smoking in any public place including bars, taverns and private clubs.

The Kokomo Common Council then voted to adopt a resolution to follow the county ordinance.

The ban also includes the use of e-cigarettes inside any public building.

The legislation will go into full effect on July 1.
