INDIANAPOLIS -- Beazer and Arbor Homes promised repairs after heavy winds damaged dozens of homes in Central Indiana – but now homeowners are asking why those repairs are taking so long?

Several roofs in an Arbor-built Brownsburg subdivision are still missing shingles following a windstorm in April.

After a series of reports by RTV6 following shingle damage to Beazer and Arbor homes, we received hundreds of complaints from homeowners with a common theme: that shingle problems have been an on-going problem on newer and older homes.

In Adam King's Brownsburg subdivision, roofs are still in need of repairs, and owners question if replacing a few shingles will fix what many say is a bigger roof issue.

"Are we going to have to make a call to the warranty department every time this happens?" King said. "That's cumbersome. We should get it done, and done right the first time."

Arbor Homes says it's going back to hand-seal the shingles on those homes to fix what the builder says could lead to more issues. But the company says it's waiting for warmer weather so that the shingles properly adhere to the roof.

So far, Beazer hasn't responded to the same questions.

Some homeowners told RTV6 they've grown tired of waiting and have turned their repair claims over to insurance.
