TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - An Indiana State Trooper scheduled to retire next month has been found dead in his home of an apparent medical condition.
State police said they were called just after noon on Friday to the Terre Haute home of Michael J. Capicik, 52.
Police said Capicik was found by a friend after he collapsed from an apparent medical condition. Foul play is not suspected.
Capicik was scheduled to retire Jan. 14 as a corporal the Indiana State Police after 28 years of service. He joined the force in November of 1985, and served in many capacities, including underwater search and recovery diver, motor patrol unit and most recently at the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center.
