INDIANAPOLIS - A man was shot after his car broke down on Indianapolis' east side early Wednesday, police said.

The man was trying to fix his car near 30th Street and Emerson Avenue just after 4:30 a.m.

He told police that another vehicle pulled up beside him and someone inside opened fire, striking the man in the arm.

Since the victim's car wasn't running, he had to walk to a gas station a few blocks away for help.

The man was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition Wednesday morning.
