INDIANAPOLIS - A student will not be returning to Arsenal Tech High School when classes resume from the latest snow day, after choosing the wrong phone to steal during classes earlier in the week.
The school's dean of students told Indianapolis Public Schools police he noticed his iPhone 5 missing from the desk in his office on Tuesday, so he reviewed security camera footage to reveal the culprit.
Police said a 16-year-old male student was spotted walking away from the administrator's office and then chucking the phone's case as he was leaving campus property.
Officers drove to the boy's home and promptly retrieved the stolen phone from the boy's mother, according to an arrest report.
The child was booked on a charge of theft and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
