Students injured in Marion bus crash

21 students went to hospital after crash

MARION, Ind. - Several students were injured in an accident involving a Marion Community Schools bus Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened downtown near Fourth and Adams streets just before 2 p.m.

The school bus was taking high school students from Marion High School to the school district’s career center, a Marion Community Schools official said.

Officials said a pickup truck allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and hit the bus.

All 21 students on the bus were taken to a local hospital. Officials said 18 students were checked out and released right away.

Three others were treated for minor injuries, officials said.
