KOKOMO, Ind. - Kokomo police say they have a suspect in custody in connection with the Sept. 12 hit-and-run that killed 13-year-old Christian Reede.
Police have arrested 58-year-old Randall Rector, of Kokomo, on three charges, including reckless homicide.
On Sunday, police seized a grey 2006 Ford Escape believed to be the suspect vehicle involved in the fatal crash.
The vehicle was seized from a residence on the 4000 block of Highland Springs Drive. The home was near the intersection where Christian Reede and a passenger were struck while riding on a moped. The second teen was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but has since been released.
After striking the moped, police said the driver of the truck continued southbound through the subdivision without returning to the scene of the accident.
