INDIANAPOLIS -- A BMO Harris Bank branch was heavily damaged Wednesday when a woman drove her SUV into the building on Indianapolis' northeast side.

It happened shortly before 11 a.m. in the 7600 block of N. Shadeland Avenue.

The 74-year-old driver of the SUV told firefighters that she was trying to park when she hit the gas instead of the brake.

Her vehicle landed on top of a desk at the back of the building where an employee had been sitting just a minute before.

The woman wasn't hurt nor were any of the eight employees or two customers inside the bank.

Employees were sent home for the day. No word if the bank branch will be back open tomorrow.

The fire department estimates the damage at $70,000..
