INDIANAPOLIS - A situation brought SWAT crews to an area on the east side of town Tuesday morning.
Very few details were available, but we're told just before 6 a.m., Indianapolis SWAT crews were gathering at a building in the area of Southwestern Avenue and Rural Street (see map below).
The home was said to be just a few blocks northwest of that intersection (in the 2600 block of Southeastern Avenue), and SWAT teams were blocking off the area surrounding the house.
We know crews were serving a warrant at the home, related to the non-fatal shooting of a woman Monday night at South State and East LeGrande avenues.
Just after 6:30 a.m., crews took a man and a woman into custody from the home.
We know traffic was restricted in that area, so you should avoid it Tuesday morning.
