State road back open after tanker overturns in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. - State police said a gasoline-carrying tanker truck overturned early Sunday morning in Madison County, closing State Road 38 for cleanup that took nearly five hours.

Indiana State Police (ISP) said at roughly 2:40 a.m. that the tanker was driving on SR 38 roughly 500 feet east of State Road 13 when it drove off the south side of the roadway and overturned.

Troopers said SR 38 would be closed for about four hours while crews load and upright the tanker. As of 7:15 a.m., the roadway was back open.

ISP said no one was hurt in the crash.
