MADISON COUNTY, Ind. - The teen accused of raping a 93-year-old Anderson woman in July has been ruled incompetent to stand trial in a special hearing held Thursday.
A Madison County judge found 17-year-old Iquise Taylor cannot stand trial for the alleged rape of an elderly woman.
In August, Taylor was formally charged with rape, burglary, criminal confinement and strangulation. He was waived to adult court.
Court officials said Taylor will be sent to a state psychiatric facility until he is deemed competent to stand trial.
Charges could be re-filed at a later date if doctors determine Taylor’s mental state has improved enough to stand trial.
