INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Ten Point Coalition wants those who have information about unsolved murders to step up and come forward.

The organization held a press conference Wednesday.

There are 60 unsolved murders this year. Family members of those murder victims attended the press conference and begged the community to come forward with information about the crimes.

Greg Wilson's son was killed in October at the intersection of 30th and Capitol. He gave an impassioned plea to help police solve the crime.

"I've heard people say 'I ain't telling the police nothing.' Well then guess what? It could be your son, your daughter, your brother, your sister," Wilson said. "We all can have victims in our family if we don't get these killers and murderers. They do not deserve to be in our community, they do not deserve to be protected and I'm asking you as a grieving father: turn these folks in."

IMPD Assistant Police Chief James Waters encouraged anyone with information about any crime to call Crime Stoppers at at 317-262-8477. You can also text “INDYCS” plus your tip to 274637. Waters stressed that it can be done anonymously.

"We can bring closure, together," Waters said.

IMPD Chief Rick Hite said he understands some people are concerned about their safety if they give information, but said accommodations will be made to help those keep people safe.
