INDIANAPOLIS - The dense fog that blanketed much of central Indiana overnight began to clear just before the morning commute on Tuesday, leaving pockets of fog on interstates and side streets.

Dispatchers said they received several calls about low visibility on roads in downtown Indy as well as Madison and Delaware counties.

Drivers were advised to leave a little earlier to allow for a slower morning commute where patches of the thick fog remained.

StormTeam 6 meteorologists Todd Klaassen and Ashley Brown said the fog was expected to burn off by the late morning.
