GREENFIELD, Ind. -- Thieves are taking urns from a Greenfield cemetery, according to police.
It has happened at least 18 times at Park Cemetery over an unknown period of time.
Greenfield police say the urns are metal and may be stolen for metal scrapping or re-purposing.
"Just a sinking feeling. Why would anybody do it? Like anybody else would think, it's just a shame that since 1926, since my grandmother died this urn's been on her gravesite," Dave Pasco said.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact Sgt. Ronald Chittum at the Greenfield Police Department at 317-325-1284.
