KOKOMO, Ind. - Thousands of Hoosiers in Kokomo were still without power Tuesday following two tornadoes that tore through the city Sunday.
The National Weather Service confirmed two EF2 tornadoes left a path of destruction that closed roads and prompted officials to enforce curfews as residents worked to clean-up the debris.
The City of Kokomo issued a curfew for Nov. 18 through Nov. 22 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in all affected areas. The curfew prohibits all vehicular and pedestrian traffic in those areas.
At least 50 families were forced out of their homes and police said the curfew is a way to partially protect their belongings from looters.
