Thousands went without power in Indiana during cold Monday blast

INDIANAPOLIS - Hundreds in Indianapolis and thousands across Indiana went without power Monday morning - all while temperatures continued to drop and harsh winds kept blowing harder.

At the height of the outages Monday morning, nearly 5,000 Hoosiers were without power. That number has significantly decreased since 3:30 a.m.

As of 11:30 a.m., Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) reported  roughly 50 customers without power, spread out across the city.

Duke Energy, on the other hand, reported roughly 20 outages at 11:30 a.m. Monday. Find Duke Energy's current outages here.

The outages come both with another arctic blast and nationwide propane outages, perhaps leaving some Hoosiers without both electricity and gas this week.
