WESTFIELD, Ind. - The husband and father of the victims of a double murder in Westfield has released a statement, according to his church.
Todd Erb, via Grace Community Church, released a short statement Sunday about the deaths of his wife, Marylyn Erb, 52, and daughter, Kelley Erb, 23. The Erbs were killed in their home near 161st Street and Oak Park Court in Westfield on Dec. 20.
The statement reads as follows:
"I would first of all like to thank all law enforcement departments that have been working tirelessly on behalf of my family. Also I want to give special thanks to Mayor Andy Cook for all of his support and encouragement.
There are no words that can express the huge void in my families [sic] lives for the tragic loss of my wife and daughter. The only comfort we have is knowing they are in the arms of Jesus in heaven above and that God is giving us the grace to move forward one moment at a time.
I want to thank the entire community for the overwhelming love and support that has been extended to my family. The offering of prayers by so many are heartfelt and sincere and it is with humble gratitude that I ask for continued prayers."
Westfield police have charged a former employee of Todd Erb's, Christian Rene Haley, 20, with both murders.
