INDIANAPOLIS – This weekend you can party in the big red barn, grab a holiday beer, see Santa and say happy birthday to Indiana.

Here are your top six things to do in Indianapolis this weekend:

1. Grab a holiday beer

Craft beers and local brews are all the rage right now, but Flat 12 Bierwerks is putting a spin on holiday drinks. From now until Dec. 24, the brewery will release four new holiday -themed beers each week in honor of their 12 Beers of Christmas. The holiday-themed brews are offered beginning Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 at noon and each are cleverly named for the season. Today you can try The 12th 2016, Glazed Ham Porter, Irish Coffee Milk Stout and Fireside Red. The additional beers can be found online.

More information can be found at flat12.me.

2. Party in the big red barn

Visit Traders Point Creamery this weekend and watch it transform into a winter wonderland that offers a holiday extravaganza for the entire family. Christmas on the Farm takes place in the Big Red Barn where you can visit Santa and his real like elk. You can also enjoy holiday music, create Christmas crafts, decorate holiday cookies and take a ride on Santa’s sleigh (it’s really a hayride, but that makes it even better, right?). Tickets are limited and will not be available for purchase at the door.

More information can be found at traderspointcreamery.com.

3. Let your pet hop on Santa’s lap

Why should the kids get all of Santa’s attention? Let your dog hop up on Santa’s lap to snap a photo and create lasting memories at Santa Visit’s Dogs at Indy’s Reads Books this Saturday from noon until 2p.m. Polaroids will be available for $3 and dogs will get special treats from Santa during their visit.

More information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

4. Join the jingle bell run

The largest holiday 5K race aimed to fight arthritis happens this Saturday – the Jingle Bell Run/Walk. To help kickoff the holidays, you are welcome to wear your best holiday-themed costume (and tie jingle bells to your shoelaces) as you make your way to the finish line to help raise money for arthritis research. Begin the race at Bankers Life Fieldhouse beginning at 9 a.m. and choose if you’d rather walk or run the 5K route leading you through neighborhoods like Mass Ave and Lockerbie Square.

5. Have Christmas at Lilly House

Enjoy the holiday season in a new way at Oldfields-Lilly House on the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s campus. The National Historic Landmark’s 26-acre estate will be decorated with holiday floral arrangements and lights for visual inspiration. Lilly house was once home to J.K. Lilly Jr., an Indianapolis businessman, and became a museum attraction after it was restored to showcase its 1930’s glory. Each of the 22 rooms will offer a new experience.

6. Happy birthday, Indiana!

In honor of Indiana’s 200th birthday this Sunday, Indianapolis Public Library’s Central Library is inviting families from all over Central Indiana to celebrate. Festivities will include music, arts and crafts, 3D printing activities and a book signing with Donna Griffin, author of "The Twelve Days of Christmas in Indiana." The day will also include a discussion on historical women, led by local author and historian Nelson Price.
