INDIANAPOLIS – Although the temperatures will drop this weekend, it doesn’t mean you should cancel your outdoor plans – and this weekend will bring plenty of options.

Here are your top six things to do this weekend in Indianapolis.

Taco Trucks Festival

Indiana Discount Mall – 3585 Commercial Drive

Sunday from 2-9 p.m.

You may be familiar with the Taco Festival happening this June, but there is another reoccurring taco event held on the city’s northwest side. Every third Sunday you’ll find 8-10 food trucks serving tacos and more in the International Marketplace Neighborhood.

Designers Runway Fashion Show by Midwest Fashion Week

Indianapolis Artsgarden – 110 W. Washington Street

Saturday from 7-10 p.m.

Established designers from Indianapolis and cities all over the Midwest will showcase their latest designs. The event will feature special guests and live performances.

Earth Day Indiana Festival

Military Park – 601 West New York Street

Saturday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Celebrate Earth Day by giving back to our planet at the Earth Day Indiana Festival. The event will highlight over 125 nonprofits, companies and groups. There will also be music, environmentally-focused projects and food vendors. The event will also include a 5K/walk.

Canal Awakens

Downtown Indy Canal Walk

Saturday 3-6 p.m.

As Spring is in full swing, business owners along the canal invite you to check out services and items they have to offer. You’ll begin by grabbing your passport from the Downtown Indy tent to have stamped as you make your rounds.

Nestle Inn Cooking Class

Nestle Inn – 637 North East Street

Saturday from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

To wrap up the first round of 2017 cooking classes at Nestle Inn, chefs at the bed and breakfast will host “The Art of French Pastry.” Each class is informal and held in a relaxed atmosphere.

Naturally Inspired Paint Out Day

Indianapolis Zoo – 1200 W. Washington Street

Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Each Spring, 15 artists are invited to showcase their talents by creating animal art using clay or paint on a canvas. Projects are created outdoors near animal exhibits, so guests can witness the art transformation. A youth event is also available for those ages 9-12.
