INDIANAPOLIS – This weekend’s events will bring out your inner artist, transport you to the time you heard your favorite Prince song and supply you with enough caffeine to mark off everything on your to-do list.
We've got your top six things to do in Indy this weekend:
1. Coffee anyone?
Yes, your dream has become a reality. You can now hop from coffee shop to coffee shop with your favorite mug and try different varieties of brew at the 4th annual Caffeine Crawl this Friday and Saturday. You’ll have the chance to explore 12 local coffee, tea, chocolate and bakery companies including: Foundry Provisions, General American Doughnut, Hubbard & Cravens Coffee & Tea and more. Friday evening will offer two routes with a biking and jogging route included. Saturday morning and afternoon will offer three routes. Each business will give a brief presentation and a sample of their brews and sweet treats. Times vary per route.

2. Explore Broad Ripple with art in mind
Broad Ripple is home to several shops, restaurants and small tech companies, but they also attract many artists in the city. The Broad Ripple Fall Art Walk this Friday from 5-9 p.m. will feature galleries, boutiques and shops in the area with each hosting their own art exhibit. Be sure to stop by the Broad Ripple Village Association at 6323 Guilford Ave. before you began your exploration to pick up a map of participating locations.

3. *sings* Purple Rain, Purple Rain…
Prince fans can relive all of the best chart-topping tunes from the late music icon at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s tribute concert Friday night at Hilbert Circle Theatre. The Music of Prince will showcase some of Prince’s biggest hits like “Purple Rain,” “Kiss,” “When Doves Cry,” “Raspberry Beret,” “U Got the Look,” “Little Red Corvette,” and “I Would Die 4 U,” and others. Don’t worry, if you can’t make Friday’s event, a second performance has been scheduled for Nov. 22.

4. #BigDrawIndy
How often do you get the chance to splash paint and draw on walls outside of your home without getting in trouble? These acts are encouraged at the final #BigDrawIndy event at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick History Center this Sunday. The event held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. will turn Eli Lilly Hall into a giant art studio to celebrate Indiana’s 200th birthday. You’ll have the opportunity to add color to customized coloring pages, contribute to a large community mural, create glow in the dark drawings and more all for free!

5. Join the neighborhood block party
Sure Halloween parties can be fun, but Halloween block parties are even more fun. The Cottage Home Neighborhood Association will host the 32nd annual Light Up the Night in the 700 blocks of Dorman Street and Highland Avenue this Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. The event will feature music from local bands, art pieces and vendors. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and enjoy the hay rides, pudding eating contest and other activities. There will also be food and drink provided by Duos Indy, Taste of the Caribbean, Gordon's Ice Cream Parlor, Flat12 Bierwerks and others. The event is free but a $5 donation is encouraged to help pay for event expenses.

6. Mardi Gras for a good cause
It's not February but Mardi Gras is coming to Indy this Friday for a good cause. Mardi on Mass, a delicious New Orleans style shrimp boil on Mass Ave, will take place in the Art Bank parking lot from 5-10 p.m. All funds will benefit Little Wish Foundation, an organization granting little wishes to children with cancer. Along with food, there will be live jazz music and a cash bar.
