INDIANAPOLIS –  Looking for something to do? Of course you are, or you probably wouldn’t be here right now if you weren’t. We’ve got your weekend plans covered.

Here are our top six things to do this weekend in Indianapolis:

Get classy for a night out

Put on your classiest gown or your most dapper suit and head to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s opening night gala Saturday night. Beginning at 6 p.m. at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, you’ll have the chance to hear pieces from conductor Jack Everly and numerous special guests including Megan Hilty, Angela Brown, George Takei and Thomas Lauderdale. The evening will also celebrate Indiana's bicentennial with songs by Hoosier legends.

See the battle of the bands

Ever wanted to see the drum line perform up close? Join more than 175,000 people from across the country this weekend as the 33rd Circle City Classic takes place in downtown Indianapolis. This event celebrates African-American culture and academic achievement all while tossing in loads of fun activities. You can expect a parade, football game, tailgating, band performances and more. The parade kickoffs the day of events beginning at 10 a.m. at North and Pennsylvania Streets.

Dance and drink all night at the brewfest

Sample a few craft beers from local breweries at the Irvington Brewfest taking place this Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. Rounds from places like Metazoa, Black Acre, Flat12, Fountain Square and St. Joseph will be available, and you’ll even walk away with some brewfest swag. Music will play all night and Chef Dan’s and La Mexi-Gringa will supply food. With food and beer, there’s really no reason not to go visit the fest at Our Lady of Lourdes.

11 bands on two stages…plus a buffet (need we say more?)

Whether its sizzlin’ or calm jazz that takes all your worries away, the Indy Jazz Fest is inviting you to their block party to enjoy 11 bands on two stages Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. bands will play both indoors and outdoors beginning at 3 p.m. until after midnight. In addition to music, a buffet will be supplied by The Jazz Kitchen and Yats. This party is 21 and over so make sure to leave the little ones at home.

Grown-up summer camp

Remember summer camp? The fall season may be officially here, but a time to make new friends, learn new skills and get free stuff never gets old. The Indianapolis Museum of Art is holding their Grown-Up Summer Camp this Saturday from 10 a.m.-9p.m. The day-long camp is an immersive experience with artists, musicians, chefs, curators and performers at the museum. The camp will include cooking dinner with Cerulean Chef Caleb France and discovering hidden places at the IMA.

A taste of diversity

Get a taste of ethnic foods at Taste of Diversity taking place at The Garfield Park Arts Center Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. This free community event promotes cultural diversity through food, entertainment and connection. Local food trucks will offer unique cultural dishes. Free games, prizes and dance performances will also take place. Once you’ve soaked up some culture, relax with entertainment from Toy Factory, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir and others.
