Traffic stop yields 1/4 lb. of marijuana

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. - A traffic stop Thursday afternoon led state police to recover a quarter-pound of marijuana.
Trooper Yan Dravigne said he stopped a Pontiac G6 near the 30-mile marker on I-70 for a broken taillight. As he approached the vehicle, Dravigne said he noticed a distinct smell of raw marijuana.
A search of the vehicle turned up approximately one quarter pound of marijuana, packaged and placed in a trash bag in the trunk.
State police charged Trayon L. Turner, 19, of Indianapolis, a passenger in the vehicle, with possession of marijuana over 30 grams, a Class "D" felony, and dealing in marijuana, a Class "D" felony.
The driver of the vehicle, Darius Gordon, 22, of Indianapolis, was cited for driving while suspended and released.
