DANVILLE – Police in Danville say they broke up a drug ring this week with a pair of traffic stops.

The first stop happened Wednesday afternoon at Marion and Washington Streets. After police stopped a car for a license plate problem, officers found marijuana, heroin and instruments for using the drugs.

Then, early Thursday morning, a car was stopped at Washington and Main in Danville for what police said were several traffic violations.  Inside the car, officers found heroin, syringes and other material, and police also discovered a connection to the car stopped the previous day.

Officers searched a home Saturday morning near Marion and Washington Streets based on evidence gathered from the cars, and police say they found meth, scales, bags and other drug paraphernalia inside.  Five people were arrested as well – they were identified as Scott Neal, 33, Darrell Skinner, 33, Jason Skinner, 36, Danielle Barnes, 22 and Maricel Espinoza, 18.

The Hendricks County Drug Task Force helped in the investigation.
