INDIANAPOLIS -- Three people were shot Wednesday night, two fatally, near the Indiana School for the Deaf on the north side.

The shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. on the 4400 block of Primrose Avenue.

Emergency responders arrived to find three victims shot inside a vehicle. One of those victims, identified as Wesley Small, 24, was declared dead at the scene.

Two other victims -- a male and a female -- were rushed to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. The male victim, 29-year-old Dajuan Mitchell, died Thursday night of his injuries.

Detectives say they don't believe this was a random act.

The area was the scene of another fatal shooting Monday morning, when 32-year-old Jason Byrd was shot and killed around 5:00 a.m.
