INDIANAPOLIS - An oil spill created problems for motorists on a highway in Indianapolis on Sunday morning and early afternoon.
The Indiana Department of Transportation reported the spill has closed the ramp from southbound Interstate 69 to westbound Interstate 465 on the northeast side of Indianapolis around 11 a.m.
A driver with AL Warren Oil Company, Inc. was traveling onto the I-69 southbound ramp when he noticed diesel fuel was leaking onto the interstate, officials with the Indianapolis Fire Department said.
IFD estimated 285 gallons of fuel leaked onto the road. The driver stopped the leak by shutting off the valve.
Two accidents occurred because of the slippery road conditions of the spill, IFD said.
Officials said all people involved were treated on the scene and released.
Westbound lanes of I-465 were initially closed but had since reopened.
