HAMILTON COUNTY, Indiana - A major U.S. highway used as a travel path for Greater-Indianapolis commuters was closed to traffic early Thursday after two cars crashed.
Hamilton County dispatchers said sometime around 5:15 a.m., a pickup truck and a car collided near the intersection of 96th Street and Meridian (U.S. Highway 31). That's right near the Hamilton-Marion county line.
A stretch of Meridian was closed in that area from roughly 5:30 to 6:15 a.m. as crews handled the crash scene.
Emergency crews had to rescue at least one person trapped in one of the cars, officials said, but no injuries were serious.
