INDIANAPOLIS -- A family gathering after a funeral was interrupted by gun shots, leaving two people dead and sending a 3-year-old to the hospital.

IMPD Maj. Richard Riddle says the family was outside of a house on Magnolia Place, just east of Arlington Avenue on the east side of Indy, when someone walked up and started shooting around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The shooter ran away, and Riddle says police are still looking for the person.

Justin Sims, 32, died at the scene, and Dangelo Brown, 26, died on the operating room table at Eskenazi Hospital.  The 3-year-old was shot in the hand, was taken to Riley Hospital and is expected to recover.

If you have any information on the shooter, Riddle says you should call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477) or the IMPD Homicide Office at (317) 327-3475.  Information shared with Crime Stoppers is anonymous and confidential.
