Two injured in morning wreck in Peru

PERU, Ind. - Two Peru residents were injured Thursday morning during a head-on collision while delivering newspapers.
Indiana State Police said Tina McGee, 29, and Robin McGee, 26, both of Peru, were driving in their 1985 Chevrolet Blazer, traveling southbound on the northbound side of Eel River Cemetery Road. The pair was delivering newspapers, according to the police report.
At approximately 7:24 a.m., Cassie Brooks, 34, of Peru, crested a hill in her Dodge Charger going northbound on Eel River Cemetery Road. Brooks' vehicle struck the Chevrolet, which was on the wrong side of the road, head-on.
Tina and Robin McGee were transported by ambulance to Dukes Memorial Hospital. Robin was later flown by Samaritan Helicopter to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with a chest injury. Neither woman was wearing a seat belt.
Brooks and her two passengers, children ages 6 and 3, were uninjured. Police said all three were wearing their seatbelts.
