INDIANAPOLIS - Two people were injured, one seriously, during an attempted robbery at a residence just south of downtown Saturday night.
Police responded to a call at an apartment on the 800 block of West Lincoln Street to find Kevin Inabnit, 45, lying on the floor of his apartment with apparent stab wounds to his back. His wife, Michelle Inabnit, 44, had also been cut in the hand.
Michelle told police a man had entered the residence without permission just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. When they confronted him, Michelle said the suspect pulled out a butcher's knife, stabbing her husband and cutting her.
Both victims were taken to Methodist Hospital, with Kevin reportedly in serious condition.
A third man was taken to police headquarters to make a taped statement in connection with the incident.
Police have not released a description of a possible suspect at this time.
