INDIANAPOLIS -- A person was shot and killed Monday night on the east side.
The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. on the 4000 block of Malibu Drive, near the intersection of 42nd Street and Post Road.
Emergency dispatchers said the unidentified victim had been shot in the chest and was transported in serious condition to Eskenazi Hospital. The victim was later pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't immediately known.
Police were called to a second shooting around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Rural and Michigan Streets.
Officers arrived to find an unidentified victim shot in the leg. The victim's condition was not immediately known.
Dispatchers said suspects fled the scene of the shooting in a vehicle.
