INDIANAPOLIS -- A person was shot and killed Monday night on the east side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. on the 3900 block of Breen Drive, Malibu Drive, near the intersection of 38th Street and Post Road.
He was then driven to a house on the 4000 block of Malibu Drive, where police found him.
Emergency dispatchers said the victim had been shot in the chest and was transported in serious condition to Eskenazi Hospital. The victim, later identified as Rito Llamas-Juarez, 50, was later pronounced dead.
Police took several witnesses to the IMPD Homicide Office for questioning.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting weren't immediately known.
Police were called to a second shooting around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Rural and Michigan Streets.
Officers arrived to find an unidentified victim shot in the leg. The victim's condition was not immediately known.
Dispatchers said suspects fled the scene of the shooting in a vehicle.
