INDIANAPOLIS -- Passengers aboard an Indianapolis-bound Allegiant airlines flight got a different kind of refund on Tax Day this year.

The passengers aboard flight 758 from Orlando Sanford International Airport were refunded their entire itinerary, including airfare, bags and other flight related upgrades. The surprise announcement mid-flight was met by cheers.

The refunds are part of Allegiant's $1 Million Summer promotion, through which the airline is giving away $1 million of airfare by the end of the summer.

Allegiant is a budget airline with non-stop service from Indianapolis to Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, Savannah and five destinations in Florida (Punta Gorda, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville).

Allegiant says they launched the promotion to "provide groups and individuals travel opportunities they may not otherwise be able to take."
