INDIANAPOLIS -- Carrier's union president, Chuck Jones, started the speech off with a joke.
With all the edginess between the Carrier jobs, President-elect Donald Trump's tweets and his response to the tweets, it would be fair for him to be a little tense.
But he lightened the mood a little by opening Friday's press conference by saying, "I wanted to tell you that I was not offered the job as Secretary of Labor," he said. "That's off the table."
Jones, and a few others, still hit the key points during the press conference: the Trump tweets, keeping Carrier jobs in the United States and the work still ahead with the Rexnord jobs.
