Deputy Koontz's widow delivers his eulogy

KOKOMO, Ind. -- On Tuesday,hundreds of peace officers and community members gathered for the funeral of fallen Howard County Deputy Carl Koontz. 

His widow, Kassandra Koontz, delivered the eulogy that she wrote for their 8-month-old son, Noah. 

"Carl has touched so many people. Even though his courageous act took him physically, his legacy will live on forever," she said.

She described her husband as an amazing father, son and friend.

"Family was everything to Carl. He would do anything for anyone at any hour of the day," Koontz said.

She added that his fellow deputies that Koontz was one of the best officers they had. 

"Law enforcement was made for Carl. He was made for his career," she said.

She also thanked those in attendance. And asked them to do one thing if they see their son Noah in the future. 

"If you could just say, 'I was at your dad's funeral', that would mean so much to him. I just want him to realize who his dad was," she said.
