WASHINGTON, D.C.. -- One more mention of Elkhart from the president.

President Obama recapped this week's trip to northern Indiana during his weekly address on Saturday.  It was much of the same talk he gave at Concord High School, on the state of the economy during his first visit to Elkhart three weeks after he became president and the state of the economy now.  "Unemployment there has now falled to around 4%. More families are back on sturdy ground. More are covered by health insurance," Obama said, crediting the hard work of the people who live there.

Obama, however - as he did this week - credited the policies of his administration.  "We made a series of smart decisions early in my presidency to rescue the auto industry, to help families refinance their homes, to invest in things like high-tech manufacturing, clean energy and the infrastructure that creates good new jobs."

Governor Pence was among those who disagreed with Obama's assessment, giving credit for the recovery instead to the policies of the Pence administration and the Republican-controlled legislature.
