INDIANAPOLIS -- Surveillance video of men smashing a jewelry case at Macy's in Glendale was released Friday by Indianapolis police.

Two men, carrying an ax, walked into the Macy's at Glendale Mall around 5 pm on Tuesday.

They stole more than $100,000 worth of jewelry before fleeing the scene.

"It's a very brazen act, especially considering the time of day that it happened and that there were customers in the store," said IMPD Officer Jim Gillespie. "It is a very concerning thing and that's why do like to remind everybody that if you do happen to see something, anybody, walking around with any kind of edged instrument, any kind of weapon, of that they might be wearing a mask going into a store, please do not hesitate to give 911 a call."

The suspects reportedly didn't make any threats – just broke the case and took the jewelry.

They then fled eastbound in a red 2006 Chevrolet Impala.
