ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- All Zionsville Community Schools were closed on Friday due to a water main break in the area.
A representative from Citizens Energy said the water main break occurred in a Zionsville subdivision -- Cobblestone Lakers -- with about 75 homes.
Many people who live in that subdivision say they've had ongoing problems with water main breaks over the last few years.
In response to those breaks, a Citizens Energy Group spokesperson said:
"We are aware there have been a number of main breaks in that neighborhood. The water mains in that neighborhood were originally installed by the developer of the subdivision in the mid-2000s. Citizens is still analyzing the cause of the latest main break, and will be investigating the integrity of the mains throughout the neighborhood."
The nearby schools were without water Friday morning, but the water has been restored.
Crews were still working to repair the break as of 2 pm Friday.
Citizens says it's talking longer than anticipated due to the extent of the damage.
