Gholston was arrested in November 2014 in connection with the brutal murder.

"I'm feeling relieved," said family member Mareeka Allen. "We can sleep. We finally can sleep knowing that we got justice and what we wanted. It's an indescribable feeling, and we just … I'm just lost for words right now."

Allen's body was found dumped and badly burned on the west side of Indianapolis in August 2014. Police said she'd been choked to death.

Police said Gholston, a "career criminal," abducted Allen from his sister's porch.

He was charged with her murder after DNA evidence linked him to her body.

A sentencing hearing was set for April 15 at 10:30 a.m.
