PENDLETON, Ind. - A 71-year-old woman was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into a prison, police said.
Joyce D. Roether, of Van Buren, was arrested Wednesday after police said she tried to bring marijuana and cocaine to an inmate at the Pendleton Correctional Facility.
Roethler is being held in the Madison County Jail on $10,000 bond.
She faces a felony charge of possession of cocaine, a felony charge of trafficking an inmate and a misdemeanor charge of dealing marijuana.
