MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. - Correctional officers arrested a woman Tuesday and removed her son from her custody after they said she tried to sneak narcotics to an inmate at the Miami Correctional Facility.

Kimberly Stone, 31, of Goodland, is facing charges of possession of a narcotic, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy to traffic with an offender and child endangerment.

Police said Stone came to the facility with her 18-month-old son and a package containing 4 grams of heroin, Suboxone tablets and Suboxone strips.

Stone admitted to carrying the drugs and she told staff that the offender had told her to bring them, officials said.

Stone is being held in the Miami County Jail on $32,000 bond. Her son was taken by the Department of Child Services.
