INDIANAPOLIS - A 76-year-old woman confused the gas for the brake and crashed into a downtown Hardee's on Wednesday.

The incident happened at the restaurant at 144 W. 16th St. just after 2 p.m.

Donna Buchanon told firefighters she was pulling into a parking space when she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

Her van struck the northwest corner of the building, causing minor structural damage.

Buchanon, her husband and their adult granddaughter were not injured.
