Woman found fatally shot in Fountain Square home

Police not sure what led to shooting

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis police are investigating the shooting death of a woman on the city's southeast side.

Officers were called to a home in the 1400 block of Spann Avenue, in the Fountain Square neighborhood, about 6:50 a.m.

Police said that a woman was found fatally shot in the home and that they are working to determine what led to the shooting.

A forensics team was called in to help with the investigation. Police were talking to other people who were in the house.

A child was seen looking out one of the windows of the home while an RTV6 crew was there.

An autopsy is expected to be performed later Friday.
