MARION, Ind. - Police in Grant County were investigating a fatal shooting in a Marion home Saturday morning.
According to 911 dispatchers, someone called to report a woman who had been shot at a home in the 800 block of South McClure Street. The also said the suspected shooter had dropped a child off at the residence.
When police arrived at the home, they found the deceased victim, identified as 46-year-old Shelly L. Hudson, in a bedroom. Initial reports said that the Hudson appeared to have been shot in the head.
An unharmed 6-year-old girl was also found sleeping in the home.
Police said Christopher Rennaker, 39, turned himself in to the Marion Police Department. Rennaker faces a murder charge and was taken into custody at the Grant County Jail.
