INDIANAPOLIS - A woman is in the hospital after being shot several times Thursday morning, police said.
Metro police responded to reports of a shooting in the 9400 block of Stouffer Court about 8 a.m. Thursday, where they found Dawn Robinson, 27, had been shot multiple times.
Police said their investigation led them to the 100 block of West Morris Street, where they took Alsham Montue Laster, 32, into custody.
Laster was wearing a bullet-proof vest and was armed with a Tech 9 pistol loaded with 29 rounds, police said.
Laster faces charges of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting law enforcement.
Police said Robinson was awake and talking when she was transported to the hospital, but they did not give any specific information about her condition.
